The Shelter Caseworker supports homeless individuals in Livingston County by completing an intake for clients and providing support services to clients while in the warming center; connecting them with community resources and promoting long-term stability is a key component to this position. The Caseworker will likely encounter clients that have experiences with long term homelessness, mental health and substance abuse concerns along with other barriers that impact their ability to maintain suitable/safe housing. Essential duties for this position are empathy, effective communication skills, problem solving skills, crisis de-escalation, multi-tasking, attention to detail, and solution-based results. The caseworker will receive clients being referred from DSS. The Caseworker will welcome the client, acclimate them to the facility and ensure the safety and well-being of clients is maintained.  ***Shifts available between 4pm and 8am***
