Substance Free Living’s Residential Services offers a Residential Reintegration Program that helps people maintain a substance free lifestyle through housing, support, and education in both a congregate setting (community residence) and a scattered bed (supportive living) setting in Bath, NY. We admit residents from both Steuben and Livingston Counties, as well as surrounding areas across New York and parts of Pennsylvania.
The Weider House Community Residence
The Weider House Community Residence is an 18-bed OASAS 820 Residential Reintegration licensed facility with the average length of stay between 3 to 6 months. Formally known as Kinship Community Residence, the facility was renamed the Weider House in honor of former Executive Director, Joseph Weider.
Admission criteria:
- a diagnosis of alcohol-related or psychoactive substance related use disorder
- homeless in a living environment not considered conducive to recovery
- in need of continued treatment i.e. outpatient
- needs a structured 24-hour setting

Supportive Living
The Supportive Living program is an 18 scattered bed OASAS 820 Residential Reintegration licensed program with the average length of stay between 6 – 18 months. We have Supportive Living options in both Bath and Hornell.
Admission Criteria:
- a diagnosis of alcohol related or psychoactive substance related use disorder
- homeless in a living environment not considered conducive to recovery
- in need of continued treatment i.e. outpatient
- the individual does not require 24 hour a day on-site supervision by clinical staff
- the individual requires the peer support of fellow residents to maintain abstinence
