STEUBEN, LIVINGSTON, WYOMING, & YATES COUNTY RESIDENTS
Children and Youth (under age 21) who are covered by Medicaid and have behavioral, mental health and/or substance use needs can get Children and Family Treatment and Support Services at no cost. The referred youth must have a behavioral health diagnosis (i.e., ADHD, anxiety, depression, ODD, etc.) and be willing to engage in service.
These services are covered by regular Medicaid or, if enrolled in a Medicaid Managed Care plan*, these services are available through the health plan. Anyone familiar with youth and their family may make a referral for this service. A medical necessity form must be completed by a physician or other medical professional connected to the youth.

These children’s services meet the individual needs of children and their families/caregivers by:
- Identifying mental health and/ or substance use needs early
- Providing support in the home and community
- Preventing the need for emergency room visits, hospital stays, or out-of-home placements
Services offered:
- Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)
- Learn to incorporate individualized service goals into the school environment, at home or work, and within family and peer relationships
- Build effective communication styles with family, friends and others
- Learn self-care, and use coping skills to manage emotions and improve mental health symptoms
- Family Peer Support Services (FPSS)
- Parents/Caregivers get to work someone with lived experience
- Reminders to focus on taking care of yourself, so you are better able to support your child’s needs
- Support you in understanding “the system” and show you that you are not alone
- Help you understand your child’s diagnosis and advocate for available academic supports
