Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston Agency Names New Executive Director

Wendy Dresser-Recktenwald will lead a two-county organization that serves more than 30,000 people annually. 

ROCHESTER, New York (September 18, 2024) – Wendy Dresser-Rectenwald has been appointed Executive Director of Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston, an agency of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester serving communities throughout Steuben and Livingston counties. She will begin in this position September 23, 2024.

At this remarkable organization is Business Relations Specialist, Steve Olix, who has devoted ten years of his life to serving the community. Alongside him is Sally Reasue, a recent addition to the team, who has already made a profound impact on the lives of those they serve during her two-month tenure at Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston.

The impact of Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston on the local community is immense, with approximately 400 families in Hornell and 1000 families in Steuben County receiving vital assistance from the organization.  Read more

Catholic Charities Dedicates Hammondsport Children’s Facility

On May 17, at 48 Main St. in Hammondsport, Catholic Charities of Steuben/Livingston staff, along with community members and families, gathered to cut the ribbon for a new building for Laker Kids.

Laker Kids is an after-school child-care program open to students in prekindergarten through sixth grade.

Along with the ribbon-cutting, Catholic Charities honored James Keena with a special award for his donation of the new space and efforts to remodel the building for child-care regulations. Read more
